Contact UsMost lists of Latin America recruiting firms are written for tech hiring, and the finance roles get a line at the bottom. This one starts from the other end: which firms actually place accountants, bookkeepers, controllers and analysts for US companies, what they charge to do it, how long the guarantee lasts, and how fast the shortlist arrives. We opened every firm's own site on September 14 and 15, 2026 and recorded what each one publishes. Where a firm does not publish something, the entry says so instead of guessing.
We started from the firms that rank for this search and the ones the pages that rank keep naming, then kept only those that publish a finance and accounting offer on their own site. For each, we recorded the model, the fee, the guarantee, time to shortlist and hire, countries, who employs the person after the hire, and any verifiable reviews, each from the firm's own pages.
Nothing was copied from another list: copied numbers go stale, and at least one firm that other lists still recommend now redirects to its acquirer. Vintti is on the list, first, with the same fields and the same "not published" entries as everyone else.
Of the twelve firms compared, four publish their recruiting fee, seven publish a replacement guarantee with a number of days, and three publish reviews on a platform with a count. Nobody publishes all three.
A recruiting firm finds and vets the person; you make the offer, run payroll and carry the employment. You pay once, typically a percentage of first-year salary or a flat fee, and get a replacement search if the hire leaves inside the guarantee window. A staffing firm does the same search and then keeps the person on its own contract or through third-party payroll services, billing you monthly; replacements are usually open-ended while the engagement lasts. Executive search is retained recruiting for leadership roles, paid in stages whether or not you hire.
For finance and accounting roles the distinction matters in two places. If you already run an international payroll or a local entity, recruiting is cheaper over three years. If you do not, staffing is the only one of the two that gets an accountant working next month without setting up employment infrastructure in another country.
Three reasons repeat across the firms' own case studies and across Vintti's sales research with US finance teams. Speed: a US search for a staff accountant commonly runs 8 to 12 weeks; the firms below publish shortlists in under two weeks. Cost: the same seniority costs 60% to 74% less in Argentina, Colombia or Mexico than the US fully loaded equivalent, and a firm that recruits there daily knows which country holds the candidates for each role. And the workday: a controller in Bogota is on US Eastern time, so the firm can screen for the one thing offshore hiring cannot deliver, a same-day answer during the close.
Ordered by depth of the finance and accounting offer, then by how much each publishes. Fees and guarantees are quoted as the firm states them in September 2026.
vintti.com
Nearshore staffing and recruiting for US companies with its roots in finance and accounting, which is still about 70% of placements. Two plans: direct recruiting with a one-time fee, and staffing with a monthly rate that covers the person, contract handling, equipment and replacements. Candidates from Argentina, Colombia and Mexico are screened on the role's actual close tasks, on English calibrated to a US controller's call, and by an HR psychologist. Vintti publishes its placement medians by role and country, which almost no one else on this list does.
What they publish
Not published: the recruiting fee amount and the staffing percentage, which are quoted on the kickoff call; reviews on a third-party platform.
Role pages with the data: hire a staff accountant, hire an accounting manager and hire a controller. Plans at Vintti pricing.
hirewithnear.com
A generalist LATAM recruiter with finance and accounting as one of eight departments, and the most complete public data on the list: platform reviews with counts, a salary table by role, and a stated placement rate. Near sells direct hire, staffing, staff augmentation, RPO and executive search; the employer of record option is delivered through third-party EOR providers, which its own pages describe differently from one another.

The clearest pricing on the list: a $3,500 flat fee per placement, paid as a $500 deposit and $3,000 when you hire, with no salary markups. Finance and accounting is one of the roles covered by the flat fee, at the bookkeeping, AP, AR and reporting level. An optional payroll administration add-on extends the guarantee.

somewhere.com
Formerly Shepherd, a global recruiter that sources from Latin America but also from the Philippines, South Africa, Egypt and Pakistan, so a Latin America shortlist has to be requested. Direct hire is priced as a percentage of first-year salary; a contractor model runs alongside with an all-inclusive monthly quote. Finance and accounting is a named category, and a dedicated landing targets CPA firms.

Four models from contingency to talent-as-a-service. The fee is quoted only after requirements are shared.

hireinsouth.com
Primarily a staffing firm with one flat monthly rate per hire, South also sells a headhunting option paid as a single fee. Its roles page publishes all-in monthly rates for 385 roles, 25 of them in finance and accounting, which makes it the most transparent staffing pricing in the group even though the headhunting fee itself is not published.

teilurtalent.com
A tech-first LATAM recruiter that publishes its fee in full: 20% in every model, on monthly salary for staffing and on yearly salary for direct hire, with a salary calculator by country. southoffices.com
An Argentina-based staffing partner that does only finance and accounting, with CPA-led screening and 15 role pages from junior bookkeeper to controller. It presents candidates within 72 hours and onboards in two to three weeks. It is a staffing partner rather than a fee-based recruiter, and publishes no prices at all.

howdy.com
An Austin-based firm that recruits and then employs the person through its own entities in six Latin American countries, so the recruiting and the employment come as one product. Engineering is the center of gravity, with finance and operations listed as non-technical roles. Pricing is published as a split rather than a number: 85% of the total goes to the professional, 15% to Howdy.

Top Latin Talent publishes its fee in full, a $2,500 flat fee for short engagements and a percentage model for long-term hires, but recruits only for tech, sales, marketing and product; none of its roughly 70 open positions is a finance role.
BairesDev, Revelo, TECLA and Terminal appear on most LATAM recruiting lists and place no accountants: their catalogs are engineering only. MAVI is a finance-only marketplace rather than a recruiting firm, and Toptal covers finance consultants such as fractional CFOs and modelers but not accounting. Cielo is a global RPO whose Latin America page returned an error when we checked. Nearsure, still listed by several competitors, redirects to Nortal after its 2025 acquisition.
Read the fee against the salary it applies to. A 25% fee on a $45,000 senior accountant is $11,250, three times a $3,500 flat fee; on a $25,000 bookkeeper the two are closer. And a low recruiting fee with no payroll infrastructure behind it can cost more than a monthly staffing rate once you add an EOR platform to employ the person.
The salary benchmarks those percentages sit on: accountant salaries, US vs LATAM, senior accountant salaries, US vs LATAM and controller salary benchmarks.
Replacement windows on direct hire range from 60 days to six months across the firms that publish one. The difference is a full quarter of exposure on a hire that fails in month three.
Contingent recruiting, where you pay only on hire, fits staff accountant and bookkeeper searches with a clear profile and a deep candidate pool. Flat fees work for the same roles when you want the cost fixed before you start. Retained search earns its stages on controller and director of finance hires, where the pool is thin and the firm has to run a real search rather than screen inbound applicants. Staffing, the fourth option that several of these firms also sell, fits when you want the hire working next month and have no way to employ someone abroad yet.
Argentina, Colombia and Mexico appear in almost every firm's sourcing list and hold most of the finance and accounting placements on this page. Colombia runs on US Eastern time year round and is the most common source for bookkeepers, AP and AR specialists and staff accountants. Argentina, one to two hours ahead of Eastern, has the deepest pool of senior accountants and analysts with US GAAP exposure. Mexico, on Central time, is strong for staff accountants and accounting managers and natural for teams in Texas and the Midwest.
Brazil and Chile appear at a few firms for analysts and controllers, with the salary bands LatamCent publishes running higher there than in Mexico or Uruguay.
Vintti's placement medians by country and role are in Colombia vs Argentina vs Mexico for each nearshore F&A role.
A recruiting fee is a one-time number; the salary is what you carry. The table uses Vintti's published placement medians in Latin America against the US fully loaded equivalent, so the fee can be read against the real saving.
Methodology and sample sizes in nearshore staffing costs in Latin America, 2026 guide.
On a direct hire you become the employer, in a country with its own statutory benefits: a 13th-month payment in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, a service bonus and severance fund in Colombia, and vacation rules that differ from US practice. You can employ through your own entity, contract the person directly with the IRS classification rules in mind, or use an EOR platform at a monthly cost per person. Several firms on this list will route you to a third-party EOR; a few employ the person themselves under a staffing plan, which is the simplest path when you have no infrastructure abroad.
Vintti's view on when an EOR is and is not needed is in do US companies need an EOR to hire in LATAM and how to hire a nearshore F&A team without an EOR. US classification rules: IRS guidance on independent contractor versus employee status.
The one whose finance depth matches the role. For bookkeepers and staff accountants, several firms above deliver a shortlist in a week; for controllers and directors of finance, look for a firm that publishes placements at that level. Vintti, South Offices and LatamCent publish finance roles by seniority; Near and HireLATAM publish the broadest generalist coverage.
Published fees run from a $3,500 flat fee per placement to 25% to 35% of first-year salary. Most firms publish the structure and quote the number on a call. Staffing, the alternative several firms sell, is a monthly rate per person with the fee inside.
Recruiting: you pay once and employ the person. Staffing: you pay monthly and the firm holds the contract or runs it through third-party payroll services. Vintti sells both; the choice usually follows whether you already have a way to employ someone abroad.
From 60 days to six months on direct hire, depending on the firm. Under Vintti's staffing plan replacements are free and unlimited for the engagement.
Three to ten business days across the firms compared. Vintti presents 3 to 5 vetted candidates in about 7 days and averages 18 days to a signed hire.
The specialists do. Vintti publishes controller and accounting manager placements; South Offices lists 15 roles up to controller; LatamCent has 47 finance role pages. Generalist firms tend to be strongest at bookkeeper and staff accountant level.
Colombia for time zone (US Eastern year round) and transaction roles; Argentina for senior accountants and analysts; Mexico for staff accountants and managers on Central time. The role usually decides the country.
The ones a specialist firm shortlists do; the firm's technical screen is what to check. Ask whether the assessment covers reconciliations, accruals and close tasks under US GAAP.
You do, on direct hire. That means your own entity, a direct contractor arrangement or an EOR platform. If you have none of those, a staffing plan where the firm holds the contract is the practical route.
For roles above about $14,000 a year in salary at a 25% rate, yes. For a $45,000 senior accountant, a 25% fee is $11,250 against $3,500. Compare the guarantee and the finance depth alongside the fee.
Some sell it as an add-on or route it to a third-party EOR; a few employ the person themselves under a staffing plan. Vintti's staffing plan handles the contract and payments; its direct recruiting does not.
Search the firm on Clutch and G2 yourself, ask for two finance placements you can call, get the fee and the guarantee in writing, and ask who the legal employer will be after the hire.
Retained is paid in stages regardless of outcome and fits thin-pool leadership roles like controller or director of finance. Contingent is paid only on hire and fits well-defined roles with a deep pool.
The fee structures are similar, percentage of salary or flat. The saving comes from the salary the fee applies to: 60% to 74% lower for the same accounting role, per Vintti's placement medians.
One to two. Ask any firm that requires more why; the shortlist should be good enough to decide quickly.
Yes. Vintti, South, Somewhere and South Offices publish dedicated pages or placements for accounting firms adding capacity for the close or tax season.
Near sells executive search as a line; LatamCent runs retained search. For a nearshore director of finance, Vintti's recruiting plan covers it with the same shortlist process.
Tell Vintti the role and whether you already have a way to employ someone abroad, and you will get both numbers, with a shortlist, within a week. Start at nearshore accounting staffing.
Four of the twelve firms publish their recruiting fee, seven publish a guarantee in days, three publish reviews you can count. Pick by finance depth first, then by the guarantee, then by the fee against the salary it applies to. And decide before you start whether you want to employ the person yourself; that answer sorts the twelve into recruiting firms and staffing firms faster than any ranking.
If the role is a first finance hire rather than a search, start with the staffing option: it is the fastest way to hire Latin American talent without building payroll infrastructure abroad. Role pages: hire a bookkeeper, hire a senior accountant, hire a financial analyst.
